Thanks to the NHS my RC is now successfully done.the staff and treatment have been wonderful . Surgery lasted 6 hours. And 3 hours after that I was awake. It was done using the latest robotic machine. I am in no pain at the moment in ICU. Thanks to you all on this wonderful forum, And special 1:1 support you know who you are.
Thanks again.

I’m glad Mrs Leo will be strict. You have to balance keeping active with not overdoing it.I was ordered back to my room a couple of times by the nurse in charge. She said I had done enough walking for the day.I was desperate to get the bowels working again and failed miserably.I hope you have better luck as I don’t recommend Ileus
The stoma Is easier to manage once you lose all the tubes, drip stands etc and you get more confident with practice.
Take care Love Jane xx
Great news. Just take things slow & steady - go too fast & you'll pay for it the next day. Lots of rest, frequent snacks and drinks, and gradually build up walking, you'll soon feel more normal. Don't be surprised if emotions are bit extreme/up & down over the recovery period. Very best wishes.
