Hello all you lovely people ️
Today I had BCG number 9, so first maintenance round finished - WOOHOO!! My lovely Nurse, Ann , is wonderful and has supported me and lovely Hubby amazingly. I cried this morning once it was done. It is such a difficult journey that we are on and I thank God, and the NHS, that I can rely on seeing Ann at each appointment. I never imagined that I would be living this strange life of constant Hospital appointments and I have to admit that it is testing me. I'm having some counselling (through Bupa and Macmillan Cancer Support) and we have come to the conclusion that I struggle with loss of control of my life. Does anyone else feel like this?
I've got my PDD scan booked for 14th November under GA so if anything suspicious is seen biopsies can be taken during the procedure. Then onto maintenance round number 2 with BCG numbers 10, 11 and 12, then I'm halfway through the schedule. Trying very hard to stay in a positive mindset.
Sending love and positivity to everyone.
Love Ade ️ xx
Hi Ade, well done for completing the maintenance round, it’s a great feeling when a round of treatment is over.. Sounds like you are doing well and the counselling sessions will help you to stay positive. I completed three maintenance sessions in September and going for pre op appointment this morning for biopsy November 25th. I’m diagnosed G3T1 and CIS, so I really need a good result this time after nine BCG’s…..I was interested that you were initially told that because you had two tumours they were likely low grade because my consultant said the same to me after my first TURBT and it was completely wrong.

Hi Jane , go to be honest , last night was tough with pain ( not in bladder) in all of my muscles and little sleep. Its like the BCG brings back all my long covid symptoms . It will get better , its just sometimes my patience is tested and i end up emotional. Anyhow I am showered and warm sat in the garden for half an hour, so getting there. How is your shoulder ?
Much love Angela x
Angela, Angela, sounds like you have been in pain and discomfort since your BCG instillations. Hope you are feeling better soon. It sounds like your Covid symptoms are mirroring the after effects of your BCG treatment. You have the weekend to look forward to and remember the BCG Bacteria is attacking and killing the nasty cancer cells. Thinking of you. Garviv
