My 3rd treatment went as usual: nothing to report really. The weird thing is that so far I haven't had any bad side effects at all … Ok, a little discomfort when doing n. 1, but a part from that all went well. For a laugh: I read that starting with the third instillation you might experience bad side effects (burning sensation). So I was prepared for it. When the nurse finished the treatment and I didn't notice any pain or discomfort I exclaimed "Oh, that was good!". You can imagine the reaction of the nurse... I tried to explain that "good" was referred to the fact that I was still feeling normal and well, but she gave me a very worried look …!
Coming Thursday is the 4th … Hopefully the lack of any side effects does not mean that my immune system, instead of reacting by killing the cancerous cells, is actually killing the BCG bacteria only! I suppose we will see at the next cystoscopy. By the way: What is the normal time before the first cystoscopy after the BCG induction course? Is it 3 months after the first TURBT or 3 months after the end of the treatment?
All, have a good day!
Marco
Hi Marco. Good to know things are going well with your BCG. Great you still have your sense of humour, it does help in these times. Follow up cystoscopy goes from the time of the last treatment. Hope all goes well. Best wishes.
