Hi all
I have had my Cystoscopy today, 3 months after the TURBT to remove a 3cm G2 papillary tumour.
Good news....... all clear....
Bad news, I still have the pain and retention. My nurse has been saying for months "wait until you see the consultant and discuss with him". So I had a lot of emotion riding on today.
The consultant just said he'll refer me to my GP. I'm feeling devastated. I'm 46 and can't go far from the house because if I do not empty my bladder every 20 minutes the pain is so bad I can't walk and I feel as though I'm going to wet myself.
Why refer me to the GP? Surely a urology consultant has more knowledge in this field as to why my bladder hasn't recovered from the TURBT and mitomycin?
Sending love to all

Hi Clare. Great news on your all clear. Must be a great relief. Sorry hear about your continued discomfort. I agree your consultant should be dealing with this. GPs are not always the best at dealing with bladder cancer problems. Hopefully though your GP may be able to help. Best wishes.
Hi rily. Thankfully my GP surgery is amazing. I called when I got home from hospital because I was upset and the GP was also hoping the consultant would investigate the reason for my continuing bladder issues. They called me back within 5 minutes and told me they suspected that may be the case so on 5th August they referred me to the continence service. Thank god for my GP!
That made me feel much better to know I'm not just being left like this. The continence service will look at self catheterisation etc.
Now I just wait. The GP said she will expedite the referral.
I took today off work just to give myself a day, the anxiety leading up to the Cystoscopies is unreal even though we keep ourselves busy and tell ourselves it will be ok. So, I've spent the day baking and started a new puzzle because it's too wet to get out in the garden.
Sending love to all
