And today second instillation of BCG. Last time I only managed to keep it in 1h44m. Today 1h52m!! So very good!
As last time, for now no serious side effects. A little tired maybe, but it is difficult to prove that this is caused by the treatment.
Although I was told I could have gone home right after the instillation was done, I preferred to stay for the 2 hours, just in case. I must say, a nice nap was very welcome.
When I saw that 1h52m had passed I thought "did they actually put anything?". So I stood up. As soon as I stood up … well. I had to go! Maybe just a coincidence.
They say that BCG for the type I have (TaG3) is the best treatment. I hope so. It looks as if it is not too bad in terms of side effects (at least, on me) and if this helps to get rid of it I am happy to do it!
Now, looking forward to the week end. Hope you will all have a very nice one!
Marco
Hi Marco. Good to know things are going well and you are tolerating the treatment ok. You sound positive, so best wishes going forward.
Hi Marco, I had 3 lots of BCG for the same cancer as you, the nurses applying were fantastic, the treatment not too nice as the bleeding on the day was painful after the chemicals kicked in, fortunately the bleeding was only for the day!
I was diagnosed in 2018 and the BCG has kept the cancer away, no reoccurrences to date, so I can testify that it works, or at least for me.
Any questions, please ask but I wish you well.
Ken
Thanks Ken. Glad to hear it worked well for you!! I didn't have any bleeding and didn't feel any kicking in of chemicals..... hopefully it is more to do with individual reaction than with the treatment working worse... but we will know soon enough. Good luck for a TTC free future!
Hi Marco, my second treatment is on Tuesday . Ive also had minimal side effects , but a strange pain in my hip, like a stitch. I’ve been very tired in the evenings, but that’s it really. Let’s hope it continues eh?
I have been told that the third one of six is when side effects can be more, but then we’ll be half way through. Good luck on your journey
