Hi good people!

Today I had my first BCG instillation of the 6 series making the "induction course". My experience, may be useful for others that are going to have this type of treatment.

1. They say you should keep the BCG in for two hours, but the nurse said that this is not necessary: if after a while you have to go to the toilet, it is better to go and not risk to block your bladder. So I went after 1 hour and 44 minute.... Nurse said it was "not bad"!

2. The only really worrying symptoms you have to worry about after (when you go home) are a lot of blood (call 999, hemorrhage suspected) or bad burning sensation with fever (call the hospital, UTI suspected). Anything else, don't worry, take paracetamol if needed and do what you would do normally

3. My experience (after the first) is that if I did not know about the BCG I would say I haven't slept well last night. For the rest I am really fine...

The instillation procedure itself lasted about 15 minutes. Then I stayed in bed at the hospital (the first time they want to check your reaction). For the next instillations they said that if I feel like I can drive home as soon as the instillation itself is done ...

Hopefully, not only this is going to be painless (as so far), which I don't really mind (I don't mind pain / discomfort if it is to achieve something!). Hopefully this is also going to help clear the risk of reoccurring getting worse ...

Next: next Thursday.

Good day all!

Marco
