I had a flexi endoscopy 4 days ago and they found a tumour in my bladder. I was told I’d be contacted to book a TURBT and a CT scan. Since the endoscopy I seem to be passing allot more blood. In fact today nearly every wee had blood in it. Sometimes It’s very red, sometimes pink. Before today I went a day with barely anything in my urine. Today also, it started to sting a little when I wee, which has never happened before.

Can anyone advice is this something I should be ringing the hospital about? I’m quite worried as it seems to have gone from just a bit of blood, to allot most times I pass urine.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Eran

  • . Hi Eran and welcome to the group, although I am sure you never thought you would find yourself here. None of us ever did. Your symptoms sound very familiar to what I had. You could try phoning the urology waiting list office. Explain your circumstances and they may fit you in earlier. It is he blood which causes the stinging sensation. Without trying to worry you, but if the blood becomes excessive and non stop, then it may be wise to ring NHS 111 for advice. (These things always tend to happen out of hours). In the meantime, it is really important to drink lots of water. 2/3 litres a day. This keeps things flushed out and helps prevent clots from forming. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

    Hi Rily

just wanted to say thank for all your advice. I did start to pass a lot of clots and ended up having a blockage. I’ve been in hospital for 2 days, but they think it was due to an infection. Long story short, my urine is now not too bad. They did catheterise me which did course quite a trauma.

    Thanks again

  • I hope you feel more comfortable soon.Best wishes Jane
