I've done it.... my first day of treatment... Chemoradiotherapy. I already have 'sunburn' and have been to the loo several times. I took my first chemo tablets at 8PM (I'll be taking those twice a day for 6weeks. I'm laying on the couch waiting for something untoward to happen! Intravenous chemotherapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy tablets HOW is my body going to cope with a demon cocktail? I've been given anti diarrhoea and sickness tablets but the sickness ones leaflet says not for epileptics so I'll have to bring that up tomorrow with my next treatment. I hope that I get some sleep tonight I need some.
Well done Mecca, first one down. Do you have a printed treatment schedule? I found it very cathartic to each day on returning from treatment to put a big old line through that days appointment.
Your body will cope with this, as humans we have an incredible ability to mend & heal from the most horrendous things & I know everyone is different but there’s lots of us here that are living proof of this.
It’s unusual to feel anything from your first few treatments if you’re lucky like most of us you’ll be a couple of weeks in before you have any issues.
I hope you have a good nights sleep, I’ve just got in from work & my bed is definitely calling me.
Nicola
