What to put in sores

Hi Kerrie74532c28 well done on getting through the treatment. Now just rest and heal. If it was me i would go back to the flaminal hydro and go commando as much as you can or ask the hospital for flaminal forte. Sending hugs. Xz

Hi Kerrie,

I know a few of us here sit or lie on puppy pads (or whatever the human equivalent is) just to let the air circulate when going without underwear, and without worrying about leaking or weeping on to sheets etc, but it does depend a bit on your circumstances about whether that's practical; you do probably want to try and let it stay dry when you can.

I think forte is the stronger of the two, but I'd check that out. xx

Hi Kerrie74532c28 Forte is stronger, i used both. I had towels on everything bed sofa etc as i had a lot of mucous. X

So well done, you are out the other side - now lots of rest and recuperation and being very kind to yourself.

I had open sores back to front and was given Flaminal Forte which is specifically for exuding sores, it didn't sting at all.  I used it liberally and then put the Polymem dressings on top of the gel.  Sometimes I would lose the dressings down the loo but I would just cut another one and cover the sore again.  The dressings and the gel act together to heal the open sores.

I do hope you get some relief very soon.

Thank you I think I’m going to ask for Flaminal Forte . I tried going commando this morning but oh my it was so painful I ended up putting cream & dressing back on , . How long did your sores take to go down ?

So I went commando this morning & it was so painful but I didn’t put cream in either so maybe that’s where I went wrong , I just worry about them getting infected ..
