Hi all I hope everyone is well xx

I had my post treatment contrast CT on the 6th Jan and I am expected to have my MRI on 26th Jan and I assumed drs would call me in when I have both results together

I had a call yesterday asking me to come on this Wednesday.

Would they go off the ct as all clear knowing that thry font need to rely on the mri as this was looking at wider spread which thry knew confidently that there was none

Or had it not been successful and they are calling in to give me bad news

So worried now

Take care all xx

  • Hello

I am also baffled that your scans are so far apart - I always have mine on the same day with a follow-on appointment eight or nine days later.  Some hospitals get their organisation spot on and others are woefully lacking.

Anyway, it has taken the urgency out of the situation, hopefully your appointment on 28th will go well.

Please let us know how you get on.

  • Hi Ian,

Well I’m glad you were able to sort it out although it’s certainly caused you a lot of additional worry that could have been avoided. It’s standard to have 2 scans so shouldn’t be too difficult to work out.

My scans were also weeks apart, at different hospitals followed by weeks of waiting before the follow up appointment, so it does sound that systems vary depending where you are being treated.

Best of luck with the MRI and with the outcome. Keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

  • Hi Ian,

Hope you are doing ok. I find this interesting. I have only had an mri as my 3 month scan with no mention of  me having a ct scan, not sure if that is right?. My follow up is booked for next week and this was booked before my scan date came through. All the best with your scan results.

  • Hi  , I’m pleased things have been clarified for you, it doesn’t reverse the stress you’ve suffered over the past few days though does it? I hope you’re feeling a little more relaxed now. My scans were rarely on the same day but organised quite close together, even then the scanxiety is real!! Throw into the mix a rogue appointment coming through, no wonder you were concerned. Good luck with the MRI & hoping it’s good news when you’re seen on the 28th, I’ve everything crossed for you.

  • So glad you got it clarified and hopefully some of the stress is relieved. I’m waiting for my first 3 month scan date (much confusion and stress about where it should take place) but I’m only getting a PET CT scan and nothing else. Wierd how the different hospitals seem to do different things. xx
