Itching

I used Flaminal Forte gel and found it provided the best relief. Also a sitz bath relieves the itching.

Thank you. I have a sitz bath. I am going to ask today when I go to treatment about getting some different cream. The flaminal hydro was fine for a barrier cream but it’s not helping the itching. 

I had to order the Flaminal Forte gel online from Amazon as my hospital did not supply it probably as it’s more expensive.

But it works!

Ok I am taken aback by that.  For me the Flaminal Forte gel was the mainstay treatment along with Polymeme dressings and I don't know how I would have done without those.  And yes, it does work!

I can’t wait for my Flaminal Forte to arrive tomorrow , my dressings have arrived . I’m very sore now , blisters have burst and my skin is mostly raw . Having a wee and a poo is like torture . I’ve not used Sitz bath yet as I  find even water very painful . 
When I spoke to radiotherapy nurse she never really offered me much help at all . For pain relief I’m taking in brufen . I’m weary about taking Oromorph in case it makes my itching worse . I’m just bathing myself in cotton wool soaked with Luke warm water . 
I’m praying now my blisters are burst that I’ll start healing . 

Hope I get some relief with the Flaminal gel .

Goldie65, Oramorph certainly didn't make my itching worse and I don't think I could have done without it.  I am really sorry you haven't had much help and I would urge you to try Oramorph again.  And fill the Sitzbath with luke-warm water - not hot, and it really was a lifesaver for me.

please try with the morphine it didn’t make my itching worse and it certainly helped me cope with the pain. The sitz  bath needs to be just lukewarm and I used some Simple Baby Bath Wash in the water to keep everything clean after pooing and peeing. Blisters are good as they help with the healing, You are nearly there now and things do get better post treatment.

I’ve taken a dose of Oromorph and will try Sitz bath in the morning .The skin around my vagina and anus are bleeding now when touched . So I’m going to ask for a review with treatment team tomorrow x

Hi Irene , 

Ive spent most of day at hospital being reviewed. I’ve tears from my vagina ,along my perineum and around the base of my piles . 
I’ve been advised to up the pain relief I’m taking and use the instillagel . They given me Flamazine cream to alternate applying with the intrasite gel . I’ve also been given treatment for thrush ,

im hoping when I get in a better routine with my treatment ,Ill manage better .
