Last years treatmwnt went well and given all clear. when a lump appeared in my groin at Christmas i was worried. Biopsy showed cancer cells in my lymph node.
Had an mri scan yesterday so when I see the oncologist this Thursday for a more accurate diagnosis i will be better informed but i am now scared.
This was my fear, that it would pop up again and be more serious.
Yes, ive always had a contact point, which is good. She is available treatment or no treatment, but i very rarely use them as my need is not as much as others but its good to know I can. I keep her informed of any changes physically so the hospital are aware
How are you doing sweetheart,? I start treatment on Monday, been a long time coming. Xxxx
Well i saw the plastics surgeon yesterday. My lump has got bigger and i am aware of pain around it. I am due to have surgery within the next 2 week which im sort of dreading. The skin cancer specialist is also ringing me this week to discuss things. I just feel confused at the minute xx
Hi , have you had a date for your surgery yet? Will this be to remove the affected lymph node? I hope your call comes quickly from the oncologist too so at least you know what the plan will be. The waiting around for appointments, scans, surgeries, treatment plans etc., really is the worst isn’t it?
Nicola
Hi, no date as yet. When i saw my surgeon on 18th he said it would be in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I am due a groin dissection and dreading it tbh. No one has contacted me to date either for the surgery or from the skin cancer team who are expected to call this week aswell.
My lump is painful too sometimes. On Monday i had terrible pain around my chest, back and armpit region. I had to discharge myself from hospital eventually as although my ECG showed as Ok I was not prepared to wait over 5 hrs just for the drs to take bloods.
I am still unwell but ill wait til i have my surgery date or the cancer team take bloods.
Thanks Nikki
Aww you’re really going through it at the moment aren’t you? Hopefully you’ll get a date through really soon for the surgery, it’s not something you’re looking forward to I’m sure but on the other hand I can imagine you just want it done & dealt with! Please let us know when you hear something, I’m thinking of you.
Nicola
So today I was given my date for surgery ...next wed 2 march. Pre op assessment this Monday. Cant complain, again everything done within the 2 week timescale. For me having prev had anal cancer and now this surgery in my lymph node is an emotional challenge in the sense of how i feel and look sexually or in regards to relationship goals. I like my shapely legs, of sorts lol n having the thought of fat swollen legs never mind scars on my inner thigh is something i find hard to deal with.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
