Hi, I was diagnosed on Monday with tubular breast cancer. I have my first appointment today with the surgeon and then more scans, not really sure what to expect. It's all still sinking inl, any advice would be great x
Hi
Sorry to hear your news, but I am glad you have found this community early on in your journey. I had BC (breast cancer) Invasive Ductal rather than tubular, so I'm not sure personally how your treatment plan would differ.
We have a breast cancer group which if you click +join you can post any questions there to the ladies (and 1 or 2 gents). The BC group is the busiest by far on this forum which probably tells you that it's the most prevalent and because of that treatments are developing and changing all the time. Literally within the space of 6 months of being diagnosed the ladies on the forum were talking about a treatment which I would have had if it had been around! So, that's the good news that treatments are improving on a daily basis...
The worst thing you can do at the moment is resort to Google. Just look up anything you want to know on Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Care.org and naturally Macmillan. A lot of other sites will be woefully out of date or can often be full of kranks!
The waiting is always the worst bit - every one will tell you that, once you know what is going to happen it feels far more doable. I quoted after I finished most of treatment that "the fear of it all was far worse than actually going through it". I'm 2.5 years down the line from my operation /radiotherapy now and take tablets - but it could be completely different to your treatment.
There are many knowledgeable people on the BC group, so it might be worth posting your query on there and see if anyone knows anything more to help you.
Kindest wishes,
hi
welcome to the online community, sorry you've had to come and find us
that's a new one on me, I had to Google it but it looks promising in that it appears to be very treatable.
Head on over to the main breast group and join in there. It's busy for all the wrong reasons but they're a friendly bunch

sorry for the brevity but I'm trying to find an answer for someone else on another thread.
