Counting my blessings

Just want to say Hi to the group. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 womb cancer in May 26 and since then I've had a hysterectomy and start Chemo on Monday. I just want to get on with it now so I can get on with my life. I feel this has taken over my life over the past 3 months and I just want to feel normal again. I know I have a long fight ahead of me and I feel ready now. I count myself lucky to have amazing family, friends and neighbours.  I count my blessings that I have the support that I have.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to you I recognise those feelings of wanting to get on with things so that you can feel normal again.

As you know, the online community is divided into different support groups and I can see you've already found and joined the womb cancer group where you can connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you. I'm sure if you post there you will get lots of support.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
