Hi my name is Bella,I'm in my late 70s and the cancer I have is untreatable. I am terrified.   I would be greatful for any replys.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community, a Community that no one really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

An untreatable cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.

The Community is organised into support groups and I see you have joined our supportive Bowel (colon and rectum) cancer group, this is the place where you will connect with others walking the cancer journey both as a patient or family.

Follow the above link then introduce yourself, post questions or just  join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.

You may also want to join our Living with incurable cancer - incurable patients only group

Its always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support or just a listing ear.

Most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here to see what is available.

You can use other methods to contact our Support Services (LINK) and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

Wishing you all the very best.

Hi Thehighlander, thanks so much for replying to mum. She is most grateful but is in pain right now but I'm sure she will reply soon.......Angie

  • Hi Angie, sorry to hear that your mum is in pain, please do make sure that her medical team are fully aware of any and all issues she is dealing with.

Although my blood cancer is incurable I am thankfully in remission at the moment but I would recommend you connect in with the Supporting someone with incurable cancer group as these are folks who understand the support journey.
