Hi everyone,
I have found myself signing up to this community following the news my fathers continued prostate treatment is not working.
He was first diagnosed a few years ago with the additional findings of many bone mets. Following chemo and a recent radiotherapy hit he has done pretty well, but today was not great news. He could have chemo again but that would give him 6-8 weeks so it’s been decided he should first try Dexamethasone.
Unfortunately I was unable to go to today’s appointment so am relying on my mothers recollection of what was said and I’m worried she and my father have come away thinking the worst rather than seeing the positive.
What is known is this new drug is to begin this week and we go back to the doctor in 4 weeks to see if we then go for the chemo option.
It’s all a little overwhelming and trying to source any information and navigate my way around to help support the rest of the family.
Thanks for taking the time to read, if you can offer any first hand experience that may help I’d be very grateful to hear from you.
x
