Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and wish like you all I was not here.  Feel like I've been hit by a bus today as my wife has been diagnosed with bone cancer in her spine.  Went in for tests on her kidneys and within 4 hours we were told the bad news following a CT scan.  Completely shocked.  Cam to Macmillan looking for information and came across this groups board. I think I might be asking for advice from time to time and in return offer support to others.

It's early days with obviously no answers and little information.  I just wish I could be there to give a hug.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your wife has just been diagnosed with bone cancer. I know what a difficult time this will be for you both.

As the community is divided up into groups I'm going to suggest that you join the bone cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have this cancer, and also the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to share your worries and emotions with other carers.

To join just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your wife's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
