Well - I'm 67 years old and until the last while have been hale and hearty.
I went to my GP surgery for my annual flu jab on 26th October and the doctor picked up that I was a little breathless, which I thought was a symptom of long-covid. She sent me for x-rays and blood tests; I had a CT scan and had my first meeting with an oncologist on 10th November. That resulted in a bronchoscopy last week, but today I was told that the results were unsuccessful - so now I am waiting on another camera/biopsy next week and also on a PET scan - I'm very scared and hope you don't mind this much detail.
How did/are your first weeks going - would welcome any input from folk in the same boat - thanks, Kate
Hi and welcome to the community, although I am sure you would not rather be here. The early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be very stressful. We understand the thoughts going through your head as we have all been there in one way or another. Having a bronchoscopy suggests chest problems and you have not had a confirmed diagnosis. Could I point you to the Lung Group. There you will find others who have been through the same process and will help and support you, and will be able to answer your questions. Click the highlighted link to get to the group. Click join group and then you can post your questions and concerns there. Any problems navigating the site, just hit the reply button below and ask. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
