Hi everyone,
this is my first posting and first experience of a close relative with a diagnosis of cancer.
my father of 74 years of age has just discovered he’s got this.
i know nothing of cancer and am trying to get some kind of idea as to the severity of this.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

I'm sorry to hear that your father has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer. It must be a very difficult time for you both.
Could I suggest that you join and post your question in the stomach cancer group where you'll find people who are happy to share their experiences and answer your questions where they can.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and ask questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your father's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis.
