I have started my new chemo, CAV, started last Wednesday and have spent the whole week in bed feeling dreadful. I now have oramorph, mouthwash and antifungal stuff for my mouth and today I managed to laugh for the first time in over a week. The dog sniffed her own tail and did one of those shocked looks that people do when they smell something bad. For some reason it struck me as very funny so hopefully this means I am on the mend.
Hi Stuart- chemo is an absolute arse and this one is by far worse than the last one I was on. It is a 3 week cycle - I’m just glad that now I just feel ill as opposed to the absolute misery that has been this last week.
Hopefully you will pick up again soon MazLC. I used to get a really bad week and then two not so bad, ready to start again on the third. But knowing that, I was able to plan for the horrible times. Didn’t really make me feel less ill but I felt more in control.
Will be worth it I’m sure.
Take care
