  • Good morning Patrick. I keep waking at 530 and can’t get back to sleep, it’s very annoying, but does give me time to catch up on things. Hope you are enjoying some cooler weather x

  • Good morning

Isn’t it nice and cool here on the south coast now. They have said it will get hot again next week, and I’m dreading it ! I am trying to pack the house up ready to move. I have been going through lots of clothes, books, ornaments and doing lots of drop off’s to the charity shops. X

  • Good morning.  Happy 1st July.  Stella, odd question I know, but have you managed to find any Ortis Fruit and Fibre cubes.  I can't find any on ebay or amazon.

  • We spent last week on Jersey in the heatwave. Beautiful but in a hotel room without air conditioning. Temperature briefly touched 40 degrees on Thursday. Getting out of our air conditioned car, the outdoors felt hotter than a sauna. We struggle with the heat at home a bit too and we have our daughter and her 7 month old visiting this weekend, so the portable ac unit we have in our bedroom will need to spend a few days in theirs. But I am not having to pack up a house in it. Today’s exertions limited to a trip to the hospital for a port flush, a local lunch with husband and friends and then a trip to the learning disabled adult’s charity where I am a Trustee.

    Is your move local?

  • Oh I love Jersey, but wouldn’t like a hotel without air con! I can imagine how uncomfortable that must of been. I think we will have to have to invest in a portable air con unit, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere at the moment.

We are only moving 20 minutes away, but to a bungalow, it is time to say goodbye to these stairs!

How lovely to have your daughter and grandbaby come to visit. That is worth giving up the air con for.

Hope the port flush goes well. Have a lovely lunch. My other half will be home early today as I am told there is an important football match on. X

  • Sounds just as horrible to cope with as here last week. Enjoy your daughter and grandchild and treat yourself to a second AC

  • Goid Morning to you all,

no air con needed her I am glad to say. Mind the wind and rain is not exactly what makes one sing and dance either. Well except if you are Gene Kelly and enjoy jumping in and out of puddles I suppose. Needless to say Lilly is disgusted with the rain and has gone back for a nap. I am stuck most of the day since Thursday on my recliner with my leg raised. Managed to get cellulitis in my left leg and have been prescribed antibiotics and rest. Just can’t get a break at the moment by the looks of it. Having my Oncologist phone appointment tomorrow for my scan results. Fingers crossed that there is no issue with the liver after all. Mind my recent run of ‘This and That’ makes me a bit wary. Wishing each and everyone a good day and upcoming Weekend. Big hug from

  • I think the last heatwave took care of all stocks of ac units everywhere. I am sure we will survive. We managed last week in a hotel in Jersey that didn’t have aircon.
