Results are in and all my tumours are under control thanks to Nivolumab apart from one that is, which is in my left lung.
Doc has said the next step is a Lobectomy which will mean removal of half or all my left lung. I'm so fit and healthy it just seems unbelievable really and reading about this procedure fills me with dread as it seems far worse than the partial nephrectomy I had 12 years ago.
Does anyone know if stereotactic radio surgery would be an option please? I expect it is to do with the size of the tumour?
Thanks,
Phil
Hi Phil, It's a pity when Novo is working so well, that this small part is the one that got away! I'm sorry I don't know anything about the lungs, so I'm sorry O can't answer your question, I just wanted to wish you luck. I wonder have you asked your oncologist if there is anything else that could be suggested to deal with this? Good luck! Love Annette x

Hi , Im sorry nivo hasn’t done it’s job everywhere, I can imagine it’s difficult to get your head around the surgery that they are planning for you. When I had that problem I gave my specialist nurse a call and she talked me through what had been discussed at the MDT (multi disciplinary team meeting) and also offered to put any further questions I had back to the consultants.
I haven’t experienced of the surgery you are trying to find out about but I wondered if the Ask a Nurse, might be able to help if you put your question there.
