I work at Wilko. One day I was on the shop floor and my stoma let out an almighty fart. There was a customer standing nearby. Instead of looking round quickly to see who was responsible, she just slowly turned her head and looked at me with utter disgust.. I still see her now and wonder if she remembers
I really hope you have no such embarrassment to report Ann! But have those extra clothes in your hand luggage, just in case. I was so glad I had a spare set of stuff.
I just thought, well, nobody knows me, and I can’t help what happens with something over which I have no control. And actually nobody took a blind bit of notice of me-all too busy with their own things!
Once you get that first trip under your belt, you’ll want more! I’ve got 4 holidays booked this year-no point in spending my time worrying about the “what ifs” is my motto. I love my holidays and we’ve all had such a hard time with covid as well as cancer we need something to look forward to!
Hi All
i needed to bring this back to the top as it’s happened to me recently in my hotel.
Whoopi was singing for her breakfast at the table with the waiter taking my order (she likes feeding early)
Ive got to know her and fed her a yogurt and coffee to shut her up! . Big mistake her vocal chords where up in the rafters.
I must be adjusting coz I just smiled and ignored her. People were looking around I just carried on smiling with her squealing away.
it was very funny.
It reminded me of dealing with a small child ignore the attention seeking behaviour!
I didn’t feel embarrassed or concerned so I must be adjusted to Whoops a Daisy now.
Ann
Hi I'm new to this support group so just trying it out on you lol. I see you like to travel. Which is what me and hubby loved to do. Is there any particular travel insurance company that you would recommend please x

Hi Karen thanks very much for the information x
Hi Belgian bun
Love the name.
I haven’t been abroad yet. I’ve had a a few nights in hotels in the UK. I’m booked for Spain at end of the month. My bro lives there and I haven’t hugged him for two years As a pensioner I am able to use my EHIC card. I’ve just renewed it. It was very simple I did both my husband and myself online and they were through in one week. Very impressed. We are insured with the bank too. So I don’t need extra cover.
where are you going?
Ann
Hi. I would love to go on family holiday to Lanzarote but just something we looking at at the moment. Need to speak to my oncologist to see if they would give me clearance. I didn't know whether the EHIC would cover me enough. I have breast cancer and bone cancer. Since March 2021 it has been stable and I've also just finished a course of radiotherapy. Feel really well in myself so will see what they say at end of this March x
