  • When I got my stoma bag fitted I thought it was called a stroma bag till someone told me that was a girls name, I still forget and again call it that Joy

  • Ha ha. I didn’t have a clue you could have an ileostomy. Had to look it up to double check I’d  got it right. It’s a steep learning curve. Stoma is stomach without the ch. ha ha

  • Hello greente

I’m quite new to the group too, but had 2 stomas for a while now. Motivation at this time of the year is particularly hard I think because it’s so dark and dreary, and you’ve not long had surgery so need to give yourself some time. I’m with Artsie voting to hibernate! I’m sure once the better weather and brighter days return, you’ll find your mojo returning. Meanwhile, welcome to the group where I hope you’ll enjoy meeting some lovely people with a good sense of humour along with lots of good advice.

  • hi greente, welcome to this lovely group. Don't be too hard on yourself. You'll have gone through a lot physically, mentally and emotionally. It takes a while to get used to things. But it will become routine quite quickly. Hope you're warm and cosy - stuff that is comforting.  Hope to hear from you soon. This is a place you can speak about your fears and worries as well as the funny or embarrassing things that happen.
