Hi all,

I am having a really miserable time at the moment.
Usually I can lift myself up by remembering something from the past to raise my spirits or meet a friend etc. But that’s not happening lately I’ve just had a really depressing time of it and I am refusing to let it get me down. So anything funny happen to you and it doesn’t have to include your Stoma. Though they are funny little things aren’t they?

  • Well Ive had to google what a Randan is but it sounds like it’s well deserved. What a lovely letter from the hospital - I do like it when they write on a personal level rather than just a standard template letter.
I had a letter from the radiotherapy consultant when I was first diagnosed who said ‘it was a pleasure to meet with this lovely lady’ but I think she actually meant ‘I’ve finally stopped laughing….’ She was talking me through a booklet about radiotherapy with a picture of the machine, table etc. Then we got to the small tattooed dots and she showed me a picture of a 5p. I commented that they were bigger than I was expecting and she looked a bit puzzled but then pointed to the teeny tiny dot which was next to the 5p for comparison purposes  Face palm tone1‍ doh x

  • Alaine - you should've taken the wee man out on the randan with you.  Sounds like we're both from the same part of the country.  Great that you got such good news.

  • I love that story . It makes me laugh !

I did not realise that was not a universal word .RoflRofl.

    Its a brilliant word too.

  • Sorry you’re feeling down Kath. You’re strong too you’ve helped me lots of times. These Stoma’s can be tricky I had pancaking loads then sore parts. Maybe if you could have something to counteract the effects of the antidepressants.

    Before my operation

I was on antidepressants a while back unfortunately they caused constipation so I took max strength tablets so one counteracted the other. One night I was tired. Took my tablets awoke got ready for work with no issues.
My day was stressful and couldn’t stop going to the toilet. When I went to bed the next night I realised.

Yes I’d taken two max strength senokot

Now I’m not suggesting that you take anything like that but antidepressants blocked me so maybe they’re doing the same to you and you could have a treat that you enjoy to loosen

If not I hope I’ve made you smile.
    take care
