Hi all,
I am having a really miserable time at the moment.
Usually I can lift myself up by remembering something from the past to raise my spirits or meet a friend etc. But that’s not happening lately I’ve just had a really depressing time of it and I am refusing to let it get me down. So anything funny happen to you and it doesn’t have to include your Stoma. Though they are funny little things aren’t they?
hi Artsie I'm sorry you're feeling bad -you often make me smile thankyou. I think I've posted in wrong place - 'reply wouldn't let me reply in usual place Sending hugs and warm regards.
This is defo wrong place re: food but when I had my illiostomy which was trickier than the colonostomies all the food on my plate was'vanilla'/beige and plain so I used a green Ivy and white plate which weirdly made me feel better. It fooled my brain into a happier place and kind of replaced colourful food full of fibre - so a no no. Bizzare.

"don't think about tomorrow"
Now Kath that’s a really good idea. My china is white. I will get myself some colour on my plate. This will give me some retail therapy. I’ll shop good for the planet by trailing the charity shops also drop some clutter from my house there and maybe grab a cuppa and some cake. So that’ll be a lovely day out, and I know just the place to go where there’s at least five charity shops.

When my niece was little, she was in a restaurant with her parents she suddenly annouñced in a very loud voice."when you have soup, does it come out as wee or poo"que total silence whilst the whole room obviously waited for her parents answer.
Now --thats a conundrum for those of us with a stoma.
All the best
Kath

I think it’s brilliant. Thank you. It has cheered me up. It’s so funny how children are so curious and blurt out innocently.
When my son was young he was curious about the birds and the bees he said,
So you and dad can make babies?
“Yes”
“So how do you stop having babies?”
I thought about it and opened my handbag took out my contraceptive and showed him
“I take a pill”
He was more than happy and I was so relieved!
