I had a nasty prolapse a few weeks ago and took myself to A&E where a kind dr was able to massage it back in place. Also sought the advice of the lovely Stoma nurses who assured me that I could relax, and that it wasn’t serious. As long as the stoma is wet, warm, working and pink, that is...
However, of late, the stoma has been prolapsing most days, often after a shower but even when sitting. Gravity is my friend but the frequency of prolapses is restrictive.
If all goes according to plan, there should be a reversal in the next few months. So surgery isn’t an option to sort this. If you have ideas on how to reduce prolapse frequency, I’d love to hear from you.
