Thought I would add a touch of brightness to a dark dreary day.
A Question to all you stoma bag wearers.
What colours would you like stoma bags to be made in if you had a choice ?
I do realise its not economically possible for the manufacturers to offer lots of choice so this question is purely for fun
I know you can get or make covers for them but that just adds an extra layer.I have recently discovered that the ones I use."sensura mio convex" now come in black as well as the awful grey/ pink colour.I tend to wear black undies so Wow so much more discrete.
Maybe its just me that disliked the others.
Any thoughts on the subject?

Hello Kath
I use Welland and they also produce black stoma bags. I agree they look more discreet and you can't see the output, which I prefer.
I wish they did a mixed pack, black, skin tone and maybe something pastel to tone with underwear. You can purchase covers, but the ones I have seen are large and not very discreet.
The colour of a bag might seem unimportant, but to me, it's my way of looking 'new normal'. I still wear summer dresses and skirts and I intend to swim and kiak this year, so something tonal and discreet matters.

Hi Kath
Great question!
I use Salts confidence Be bags for my colostomy, and they come in nude, black or white. Lots of my clothes are black, and my underwear, so I choose to get black bags. I would never want a stoma bag cover, in the same way I don’t want a belt or any thing else to add to the stuff I have to wear!
I’d love if I could get a mixed box of colours-I wear a lot of white and lighter colours when I’m on holiday in the sun-but I need to choose one colour and all boxes on my order need to be the same.
I find these bags neat and discreet but I’d love to mix the colours up. On the other hand, urostomy bags are simply horrible in my opinion, and I don’t have much positive to say about them other than that they serve their purpose!

Hi. I also use Welland. I have both colours on my prescription. I get 60 pouches per month-30 black and 30 beige. If you speak to your GP surgery, and give them the product code, they should be able to order them. I explained that to someone like me, my pouches form part of my underwear. The receptionist fully understood what I was saying. My prescription was amended the same day.
