Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I'm so happy that I found this group!
My mum was diagnosed with cancer almost six months ago, she underwent surgery and then six chemos and now she is slowly recovering from it all. Hopefully we will be able to get over this soon, but even if the most painful days seem to have passed, I feel like they haven't. She is still rather down, and I struggle to cope with all the obbligations of my normal life when it feels like this is never going to really end. I'm very stress out, anxious, scared, feeling guilty eveytime something nice happens to me and I manage to feel happy...it's all a giant mess. And I can't talk to anyone.
Sorry for the rant guys, I guess you figured out that I need a good one!
Sending virtual hugs to eveyone in here,
Joy
Hi , I just welcomed you to Carers instead of Family and Friends!. The emotions and stress can be too much sometimes. I know what you mean about not being able to talk to anyone. It's good to hear that your mum is recovering, but it can take a long time for the side effects of treatment and the whole experience to settle. If you need to chat, the helpline, 0808 808 0000 is manned by experts and it's open 8am-8pm every day. We still have our own lives to live, even though we get so wrapped up in our loved one's pains, so please don't feel guilty for feeling happy; soak it up while you can. I find just looking at blue sky can make me feel good. I wonder if your GP knows that you're a carer? They can provide counselling support. You never need to apologise for a rant. We all need to sometimes.
Hugs, LoobyLou

Hi again!
Actually, as I'm outside the UK I can't access the helpline and I don't think my GP can help me in that way, but thank you anyways! Still, I'm happy that at least there's this online community.
I'll pay attention to the blue sky, then. Also...tell me your secret for being so calm, positive and helpful, that's a rare gift!
Hi , Oh, believe me, there are plenty of times I go into meltdown. In between I frame my thoughts. I knew someone once who was a lovely woman and she used to say, 'Now, how can you put that to make it feel like a calmer thought?' She was an inspiration and I follow that method.
