My husband has been through the mill with 3 bowel ops and several rounds of chemo. We've been weighing him regularly but it rather shocked me that he's lost 2 stone in 6 weeks. He looks gaunt and quite frankly awful.
Is 2 stone excessive? I don't know how much cancer patients lose.
He's lost his sense of taste so is finding it difficult to find food He can eat so hoping we find solutions quickly.
Hi
Sorry to hear about your husband, it is so difficult watching our loved ones go through so much.
Do you have a contact number for his oncology team? It may be worthwhile getting in contact with them to discuss the weight loss, they might be able to provide nutritional supplements that might help.
There is a page on Eating problems that might be helpful and links to another page on tips for managing that might help you both.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Thanks Steve, yes I've got a number for oncology and think I probably need to speak to them as my husband doesn't seem to think there's an issue. I know he knows his body but by the same token, I'm the one looking at him every day . Thanks for the advice and supportm
