Hi
my dad has terminal lung cancer finished chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the end off July , oncologist said he would receive an appointment for scan to see if treatments have worked , since finishing Radiotherapy he’s had pneumonia he’s been in hospital 10 day home for 2 then hospital 6 days home for 3 then again for another 7 and has now been back home for 2 days I personally would feel better if he had a scan ASAP but up to date not received any appointment although he has received his oncologist appointment but that’s not until 22nd October, my dad is a shadow off himself now please can you advise me ?
many thanks Louise,
Hi , My that's a lot of hospitalisation off and on; a lot for him and a lot for you emotionally. I have no medical training so have no idea about a scan. Perhaps you would like to post a question on the Ask a (click here) Nurse page? You could be sure of an expert reply then. I understand why you'd feel more comfortable if he had a scan sooner; I'm like that with my husband's treatment; I want to know. Radiotherapy left my husband exhausted and unwell, so I can see why your dad would be 'a shadow of himself' after all he's been through. I'm sure the nurse will be able to help with advice and hopefully help you to feel more at ease.
Hugs, LoobyLou
