Hello just before lockdown and covid -19 outbreak my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and secondary cancer in her neck.
It was a massive unexpected blow, as kept wishing it wasnt true.I work full time and I'm mum's only carer so inbetween my shifts I could pop in check on her or just ring. Lucky for me work decided I desserve furlong leave so therefor been able to spend hours with mum in the day, even though hard as just me and her, I then nip home and visit again at night to make sure she feels safe in bed. As a break from the ground hog day I decided to bring my old friendly cat with me to cheer her up. But seeing how low she is cause she can't get out is heart breaking as we havent got long together. I wanted to take to places of her child hood.. So hard and depressing and today after even ring and checking her appointment was on only to arrive it had been cancelled without being informed...
Hello and a warm welcome to carers, although I'm sorry to hear about your mum. It's difficult enough coping as a carer, but in lockdown when appointments, like your mum's, are cancelled without notice it must be so much worse. You're doing an amazing job caring for your mum, but you need support too. Do you have any support from Macmillan or district nurses?
Love and hugs,
LoobyLou
