Members of the Online Community have shared how helpful getting outside and walking has been for their mental health and wellbeing, even if it’s only a few steps around the garden or a few quiet moments in nature.

This thread is a space for anyone in the Online Community to share those moments. You’re welcome to:

  • Share when you’ve been for a walk or spent some time outside
  • Talk about how you were feeling before or after
  • Share encouraging thoughts or quotes
  • Post photos from your walk (while staying safe and not sharing identifying details)

There’s no pressure, targets, or competition. The idea is simply to encourage one another, share the small moments that help, and enjoy some of the wellbeing benefits that can come from fresh air, movement, and time spent outdoors.

  • Hi

Thanks for sharing that. Wow, an outdoor yoga class sounds great! I’m so glad you were able to join and that you enjoyed the experience so much.

Haha, hopefully you’ll be able to do another session soon. My partner and I follow an instructor on YouTube.

    Best wishes,
    Dylan

  • Hi Dylan. Did a 6 miles walk from Hampton in Arden to Solihull Raileay Station today with the Fircones. Because of heat there  was a shorter on offer walk of 3 miles, which most did, but 2 of us & the leader decided to do the original 5 mile circular walk from Hampton which turned out to be 6 because we walked to Solihull. Very hot day though & starting to get unpleasant now. Had 3 sessions of SABR so far then one tomorrow at 8.30am & then last one next week.

  • Wow Brummie69 - that is impressive to do that in this heat, hope you keep hydrated.

So pleased to see how the SABR is going.  I have my appointment next week to discuss RT but I don't think SABR is on the table for me (EBRT over 20 I think).

    Keep it up!

  • Hi KrisPy. Sorry that it looks like you’re not getting SABR, but I hope it is possible. Though I guess they have to decide which one is best for you. I’m not quite sure what EBRT is, but I’ll check my spec.
    Best wishes

    Andy.

  •  Managed a trip on one of the slightly cooler days last week. It was great to see the sea and have a quick picnic (seagulls!)

  • Good you got out Clem16 & the sea air is good for the soul. Regards Andy.

  • I had a good laugh the other day as a friend mentioned someone they knew going to Peru and I was thrilled to have gone a few miles on a bus.

  • Good for them, but had this friend gone through what you have gone through? Maybe they had.

  • Well - a lovely morning in Bournville and off down to Bournville Park this time for another Yoga in the Park session- absolute bliss! We started on the quarter chime of the Bournville Carrilon and ended at the full peel at 12 noon, not sure if that was amazing timing or a pure fluke but it was great to sit so close to the bells for the full peel.
It is a really pleasant experience sitting outside in the park and going through our moves. Hopefully more on Tuesday evening.
    Have a good Sunday
