Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hello

Cracking post. And yes big boys DO cry. For my treatment I am on hormone therapy which removes my testosterone which feeds the cancer. I can cry for England. Films, TV, Conversations you name it I can break out the tears.

No I am not embarrassed! Just a man who can cry!!

    Best wishes- Brian.

  • It takes a bigger boy to cry lovey - one of the best releases for pent-up emotions there is.

I'm a member of the rubbish with phones group too Pensive xxx

  • Me too (phones). I want a mobile with a proper dial. Keyboards are ok but touch screens drive me mad. Ever since my parents bought their first TV in 1958, it was drummed into me: DON'T TOUCH THE SCREEN ('cos fingerprints)! Slight smileUpside down

  • Joysame here Ray, about keeping my paws off the telly. Our first was a tiny black and white one, in a cabinet. I used to love Watch with Mother, Andy Pandy, Four Feather Falls, etc but swear I saw them in colour. Very odd.

Touch screens are so damn sensitive, as is the remote for Sky, one of those you can control with your voice. The slightest touch by hand will switch channels through. Grrrrr xxx

  • I loved Andy Pandy, especially Looby Loo but my favourite was Pogles' Wood. I've watched it more recently on YouTube...he isn't very 21st century that's for sure. Very bossy to his 'wife'!! Joy

  • My fingers seem too big for the letters/numbers and I make loads of spelling mistakes it doesn't seem to correct. Very frustrating!

  • Is this you Brian, thanks for sharing your story.

Been surreal times don't know if you saw my posts with others hubby's throat went down hill and he's on a glucose drip. Had quite not great experiences with junior docs feeding mixed messages which hasn't helped. Cancer team with proper surgeon coming Tuesday. Issue being no one thought he'd get to hospital before the multiteam meeting so loads of crossed wires

  • I also cry at the drop of a hat. It only tastes someone being nice to me and I'm away. Two definite things to have me bawling - final bit of the original Willy Wonka, when Charlie puts the ever lasting gobstopper back on the desk and Gene Wilder says - and so shines a bright light. Second one is in To kill a Mockingbird when Aticus asks who saved the children and scout points behind the door and it's Boo Radley.

  • Had a difficult few days but did have a laugh with hubby this morning we all watch Sponge bob cartoon and had a laugh about the hospital episodes.

My father used just bang the telly to make it work but spent every Saturday morning polishing the teak. It was rented from Redifusion, bloke came from Cardiff to suppy new models and repair lol x

Father used gallons of Pledge to polish I'm surprised we weren't rather dizzy with the smell, then he'd get Windowlene out and do the screen with that Grinning

  • My favourite children's program. We've named our cat Pippin after the little boy. I also loved Noggin the Nog.
