Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Good evening Dingg, and a very warm welcome to our group.
It's probably best to ignore what the nurse said, just take notice of your specialist's words and go with those.
When my OH was in hospital waiting for his surgery, a nurse did a very similar thing, telling him his surgery was extremely dangerous and could kill him! He couldn't speak but wrote down what she'd said for me, and I was livid. We knew the risks but didn't need her input, so it's hardly surprising you're having sleep problems now with that nurse's thoughtlessness.
Keep focused on your specialist's positive outlook and not any doommongering - it's the best way forward sweetheart xxx
Thank you so much for that, one Professor said he felt very positive about it as it had come on so fast it seemed gerd related though my husband will need surgery whatever the biopsy says. The doc said if it is cancer it will be easy hopefully to treat as hubby had scans not long ago totally clear there hadn't been much time to have difficult to treat cancer. Nurse was very odd.
I'm more on edge as my husband has heart issues and will probably need open heart surgery but hopefully not for 18 months.
Thanks for your kind reply it helps x
No problem at all Dingg, and we're all here for each other.
I don't know what your husband's diagnosis is, but Gerd sometimes relates to the oesophagus and there is a group here specific to that. If a community champion provides the link, maybe joining that forum too could give some helpful information.
It does sound positive for your husband though, and no doubt the doctors will do everything to get him well, including his heart issues. Don't ever lose hope and definitely avoid Dr Google for information - stick with the doctors who've got hubby under their care, as they'll know what's best for him.
Drop in here whenever you like though, as we're all good at listening and giving support should you have a wobble. Sending you both hugs xxx
