Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Sarah Wave art was one of my favourite subjects at school, so colouring is a good distraction from all the dodgy stuff! I've even made some of the buildings  psychedelic, so it's free choice.

I think the girls and guys here are fabulous - all coping so well with whatever has been thrown at them. You'll know all about that and provide a great example for us to follow. Hugs all round xxx

  • Well, I can add some more good new today after OH’s appointment with the gastro consultant-phew! No evidence of malignancy, which was suspected after cancer markers being through the roof before.

And the consultant was lovely today so must have had some feedback on his previous behaviour and arrogance!  Still not at the end of the road though-blood test to check for another infection due to increasing pain, and another ERCP procedure in the next 2 weeks to try and get this final gallstone out of the bile duct. It’s a stubborn one. This is a horrible procedure of tube down the throat and a lot of poking about. I’ve had 2 of them myself so I know it’s not pleasant. If they can get it, that’s fine-if not it’s another stent being put in and waiting again before the gallbladder can come out.

But overall a very good appointment. So big sighs of relief today! Hope everyone’s ok in this awful wind today-it’s blowing a hoolie here!

    Sarah xx
