Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Good evening all
We had to do grandparent duties this afternoon as Remy couldn't go to nursery today; he had a slightly high temperature yesterday and the nursery are very strict over illnesses. Apart from being versnotty he was fine and didn't stop while he was with us. We had a much deserved glass of vino after he was collected by Daddy

Hi Sarah, and thank you. It does feel good when the time between appointments lengthens - one day it will hopefully get to three months!
I remember you saying about the potential hip replacement several months ago, but I feel you've made the right decision with all those risks involved. Be extra careful using the sticks and stay safe in your chair at all times as I'd hate to think of you taking a fall. Do you think you'll be able to get into your garden with the warmer weather on the way? I know you said it was difficult to get safely out of the door, but don't attempt to do it if you're by yourself. I sound like I'm your mum, fussing and fretting!
If we can get the pillows tomorrow, I'll be able to give you the lowdown on Friday. Care time again so I'll come back later. Hugs sweetheart xxx
Hi Gill-yes, I’m sure I’ve made the right decision, so I’ll just keep looking forward and not give it any more thought.
We have patio doors out of our dining room and it’s difficult for me to get over the threshold there but we have a back door from our utility room which is easier for me so I’m determined to get out and sit in the garden on a nice day! I think I can manage that on my own but we’ll do some practicing together in preparation. I desperately want to sit outside if it’s sunny!
When I had a review appointment after my stroke it was fine and straightforward with the nurse, and just a chat really. Was I ok on my meds, sleeping ok, feeling ok generally and the funniest one was asking if I had continence problems! When I pointed out I had no bladder or rectum she was mortified but they never read the notes! Hope your hubby has a nice simple appointment like that tomorrow.
I’ve not had a nana nap today so feeling wide awake and my mind is racing ahead with planning what I need to be doing tomorrow-lots of chores in the house need my attention starting with the hoover!
Sarah xx
Hi Helen
Bet you were ready for a tipple after a busy afternoon, but I’m sure you’ll have had fun. Hopefully you’ve not picked up any pesky germs and that Remy is ok now.
Sarah xx
Yep, putting the hip replacement to bed is the best move Sarah, and I imagine the last thing you want to think about is more surgery. I know OH is very reluctant to pursue getting a TEP as that involves a surgical procedure, something he wouldn't relish right now.
I've already mentioned to the lady who phoned to make the appointment for tomorrow that OH has had a TL, so I'll bet they'll be interested to talk about that too. When we went for his PIP assessment, the lass who conducted it was an ex nurse and seemed fascinated, wanting to know all about it. She said it was like talking to another nurse when I gave her all the gen, but that's probably because I've learned a lot of the terminology they use. She also remarked it made a refreshing change, talking to someone who knew how to converse coherently! Naughty - I bet that was deleted from the tapes. That was a proper Faux Pas the nurse made at your review, and it had me chuckling - she must have cringed!
Aw I hope you can get safely in the garden this spring and summer Sarah, as you told me ages ago that you'd bought some new drinking glasses you'd been unable to use. I'd love for you to be able to sit outside and watch the birds in their birdhouse camper van, and catch some rays. Make sure you have your mobile with you though. I'm at it again, being Mrs Fusspot, so I'll pipe down.
Don't go overboard with the chores tomorrow, as Friday's forecast is for rain and cooler than it has been - maybe enjoy the sunnier stuff while it lasts. No nana nap today for me either but no late night as it's another early start, she says with a groan xxx
