Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Morning Jamie Blush oh, and welcome to our new members - this group is certainly growing!

How are you doing champ? Good I hope. Well I don't know about yourself in the sleep department, but I've been getting far more hours in over the last few days and I was wondering what was behind this miracle. Maybe it could be down to the link Homebird so kindly posted last week. I listened to the soothing tones of the readers and felt very relaxed, although not instantly out for the count. However, maybe a subliminal vibe has been planted in my subconscious as I've often thought about what was advised in the early hours of Saturday morning. Who knows but something's changed as I've been dozing nicely ever since!

Maybe Doreen could give it a whirl too, as anything that helps us to sleep is always welcome. Big hugs my friend xxx

  • Good morning GrinningGrinning

I had a good weekend and out for lunch today. I have slept better the last 3 nights myself. Not sure what's happening either. Mind you it could all change this week. It starting my treatment week. So busy with calls and appointments from tomorrow.

This group is growing and lot more people feeling comfortable to offer support and advice, which is lovely to see too.

Seems you may have found use in the link Homebird sent the other day. I am still using my podcasts and audio books. I might give the link a go too. Hope your OH is well and keeping up the advice from his appointment the other day.

Hope you both have a good start to the day ahead xx

  • i feel they don't because they think I can just forget about my big c

  • Thanks Jamie, but OH's appointment last Friday was cancelled and rearranged for this Friday. However, I've turned into the teeth drill sergeant, and as he knows what's good for him he's doing as he'sThumbsuptold. All good Thumbsup

I'm wishing you the very best for the start of your treatment my lovely - please get as much rest as you can and don't overdo things. And definitely enjoy lunch today! xxx

  • You have gone through a big trauma. A big live changing event and this is never easy to just 'get over' it. I do feel you may benefit from calling the helpline and speaking to advisor may help. They have helped me when my mind goes in to over drive and supported me to see things a bit more clearer.

I think there is a group here for life after cancer which may offer more support from others who are in a similar situation. I am sure a Champion will he able to send you a link.
