Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Jamie that's fantastic news!!! I'm over the moon too, and have got a big smile on my face Blush We don't drink anymore but I'll raise a cuppa to you and your OH but make sure you both get some celebrations in!

Absolutely brilliant! Big big hugs sweetheart xxx

  • Haha thats why I added a cuppa or juice. I am over the moon. Spoke with the Onc nurse and we discussed about starting a kidney cancer support group in leicester together. So I am going to help her get it off the ground. I am not going anywhere though so will stay on the chat for a while yet xx

  • If you can get the support group going it will help others, so well done on wanting to be a part of it. Fab stuff! And no, don't you dare leave us as you've quickly become a very popular member, providing great advice and support.

Oh Jamie, I'm still chuffed to bits and will be telling my OH when he gets up - I know you'll get a double thumbs up from him, his way of saying great news. You've done the big boy stuff so the big pants can come off now. Ooh, matron xxx

  • I know Linda, and I'll soft soap him, like I always do, although I'll bet there'll be more cringing with the dentist's drill than his major surgery. Watch this space...xxx

  • Hahaha. I am more than happy to stick around and can update others about the treatment. How i am feeling, the side effects etc so my work here is not over yet. I see myself in remission and untill the scans, reviews and treatments end I will see my self has such.

I am so happy when she asked if I would help to start a support group and of course I had no other answer to give but YES! Let's do it!! It will mean I can help others still and just because of my good news, I am still very aware there are many who are just starting their journey and others who have worst news too. I am here for everyone, no matter the type of cancer, whether you are the patient, family, carer or friend. I will listen and support to the best of my ability.

My big boy pants have now become comfy pjs and hot cuppa. I hope your OH is resting well and give him thumbs up from me too xx
