Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi again champ. You've just swapped thumbs up so nice one!

You'll be perfect in the support group - learned experience so far, on the job learning and a great bedside manner, just what the virtual doctor ordered. It works well here too, so very happy you're sticking around.

We're in our lounging gear too and just necked a cuppa. Give those gorgeous kitties a fuss from me please xxx

  • Here is my boy Elijah to brighten up the page. This is his stern look has I forgot to put the blanket on my lap hehe.

Thank you for your kind words. Very happy to swap thumbs up and any time he feels fed up give your OH a thumb from me and say keep smiling he got this far and things will be easier.

My story of cancer happened for a reason and to be asked to help set up a support group! Well maybe thats the answer, is for me to help who I can with this illness along with the good and the bad.

Lounge wear is the best. Its the most underrated clothing. Feel sad put pjs on, lazy day put pjs on, feeling cold pit pjs on

  • Hello.
I am absolutely delighted for you. That’s great news. I will raise a glass to you.
    Sending hugs. x

  • Hello.
Sending your OH my best wishes.
    xx

  • Awww, and what a beautiful, majestic boy Elijah is - he's just received a thumbs up when I showed his photo to OH. What a proud pose xxx

I'll definitely pass on your encouragement if OH gets down - I've told him all about your journey so far, as I do about others I 'meet' on the forums as I often feel he's isolated without a voice.

Jamie, unless we have to leave the house, like today, we wear our jamas all the time as they're much comfier than civvies. We changed into them as soon as we got home, but I haven't worn them for shopping...yet. xxx

  • Thank you. We are all so happy. Still nervous about how I will react to treatment, but will cross that road later. For now I'm just happy with the recent scan results. The little lesion on my lung i have named Saturn has he looked like a distant planet. So along as he stays in orbit and not move off course all is good hehe xx

  • He is cute Kittie and he said I can share his photo. So he did consent haha

I am so happy your OH approves to. Yes he can have the Jamie thumbs up when he struggles too. It is difficult when you are unable to verbally express but we respond  more to body language then the actual words being said. Thats a fact so tell him he is just more unique than me :)

Jammies are the best clothing ever! And let's not start on a comfy dressing gown xx

  • I just feel fretful and anxious right now.... This whole cancer journey has been most unexpected... I'm still waiting for my hormones to settle and stabilize. I think that will set things to rights.

In the meantime, I'm feeling some anger at a doctor who tried to tell me that my problems were psychological rather than physiological, and who unexpectedly dropped me as a patient when I asked to discuss some of the things AI was telling me about my situation.

Feeling powerless around such treatment on top of the cancer journey is really upsetting.

  •  . treatment can cause problems you would not think off . I am sure you will make him up his game ..i know how much treatment can cause you to loose your teeth.hopeyou don't't have to much running round this week .

    Sending hugs

  • Good morning.

I am sadded to read you are feeling let down by the doctor and they decided your care is better placed with someone else. It might feel you have just been dropped, but hard to make comment has only reading a small snap shot of what happened.

It could be a simple change due them not  able to deal with your particular case and a doctor more experienced and knowledge have taken over. This can happen at times and I am sure its not because you used AI to help you navigate. We all Google and use it to help navigate our journey but often the information is outdated or just not not accurate. I personally use Google scholar or British medical journals and medical research  papers for more accuracy.

As for treatment this is very individual and not one treatment pathway fits all. Again be careful around what you read on Dr Google use respected and trusted sites and compare the information.

Hope this helps a little and keep sharing and speaking out. It really does helps. There are many here who have been through things similar to you.
