Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Helen
Aw love, sorry to hear the dreaded lurgy is back, so I hope you're getting those naps in.
It's almost 20 years since I visited London and no way could we pack all the museums into the time we had there - everywhere was massive. My washer is on its final spin. I know I don't like summer but I'll be glad to peg out again. Get plenty of relaxing in when you can xxx
Hi I completed my breast cancer treatment in November last year. Throughout this whole experience, once I had stopped taking any HRT, I have not been able to sleep. Either I am wide awake until about 3.00 am or I go to sleep after about an hour and wake up at 3.00 am and unable to go back to sleep again. I actually dread going to bed which I am sure doesn't make it any better.
I am well otherwise, but this is getting me down. I have seen my GP and she is trying to help me, but is this likely to be anything to do with the Anastrozole that I am now on, and could an alternative sort this issue out?
Thank you
Hi KevinBear and a warm welcome to our ever growing group of insomniacs!
Does the paper inside the box of Anastrozole mention issues with sleep? If not, tell whomever prescribed it about your concerns and maybe they will look at an alternative.
It is difficult, trying to get back off once you've woken up, and the more you try the less likely it is you'll succeed. My tips are rubbish as they don't even work for me, but others have provided some that could work for yourself. Maybe read back a few pages and see what you think hon xxx
Thank you. I am nervous and all the other feelings on top. So sleepless night I think. I will let you know the outcome. Hope you are keeping well too.
Welcome to the group Kevin bear. Sleep is a bad part of this journey. Lucky my GP was really supportive and gave me some short term meds to help. Which I have only taken 1 in the last 6 days. As I only need then for the last resort. Hope you find a solution but with sleep its a trial and error for what works best for individuals xx
