Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hello Gill (Gill H )
One of those - up early today - Busy day, Shopping, Tip and Football - so cracking on early doors before the great unwashed are up!!
The Support Line folk are amazing - I do have a large resource bank but I always recommend giving them a call.
Enjoy the weekend.
Kind regards - Brian xx

This is one of the amazing reason we are here. Is to talk about things. I had to have a rant the other night with things whirling around my head. I wrote it all down in here and was able to chat. Sleep is the worse and with a 4 year old too. Is there anyone who could look after for couple of days to give you some time to recharge? Sending hugs and thoughts. Always here to to listen and support. x
That's really good to hear Jamie. At times like these talking to someone who understands can indeed be the best medicine - I should practice what I preach!
Sorry for the delay in replying, but I felt a bit rubbish earlier so decided to go back to bed. Result! feeling much better now.
I must go feed the birds now - I think they're annoyed with me for neglecting them earlier! Hoping you'll have a good day my friend xxx
Glad you’re feeling better now Gill. What types of birds do you get in your garden? I’ve had a bullfinch this week which was exciting. We are in an area where there are loads of parakeets and the are quite dominant so it’s nice when we get some smaller ones xx
Aw thank you Linda, lack of sleep was probably the culprit.
Wow, I don't think we've ever had a bullfinch, but we did get a woodpecker last year who was wonderful. He was pecking on the fat balls and we were so engrossed watching him I didn't get a photo. We get a variety of tits, starlings, blackbirds, sparrows, robins, the odd wren and magpies. One of the mags has a broken wing, and although he can still fly, I feel so sorry for him. He comes round every day and I'm always pleased when he gets some of the treats I put out. We also get two pairs of wood pigeons and sometimes a pair of ringnecks. Oh, and some big crows and jackdaws. No parakeets though. My eldest lives near a Greenway, so gets a bigger variety of birds - she's crazy about them too. Maybe we were twitchers in another life! They're really soothing to watch, which I do for ages and they're all mad for mealworms. A small price to pay for the entertainment provided.
Hope you're having a good day sweetheart xxx
Had a good day. Been out shopping again and got the food shop done. Cooking sunday for some of the family tomorrow. They are excited as they have missed my roast potatoes haha. So looking forward to getting back on my feet and driving again is making a big difference. Freedom!!
Glad you are feeling better after a little rest. Sometimes we need those little recharges to keep us going. I hope the birds have not been to annoyed with the delay in feeding. x
Hi Jamie yep, recharged and refreshed thank you.
That sounds fab about the cooking tomorrow and roast potatoes are the business! Can I come round? Lol! Great news you're driving again which will provide a huge boost - all good stuff.
My broken wing magpie is back, and just swooped off with a big chunk of bread, so the guilt has gone.
Enjoy tomorrow to the max, especially the roast spuds! xxx
Morning all
I'm sorry to see that we have some more people here who are struggling to sleep. I wish you all the best for your treatment.
We're back home from London and my lurgy is back, I was coughing and spluttering all night again so I may need a nanny nap later.
We visited the British Museum on Friday, there was far too much to take in so we'll probably go back at some point.
Washing is the order of the day today.
