Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Alex Well whatever happens with any potential surgery, I'm hoping only for the best outcome my lovely.
In the meantime, do all the good things you've got lined up - meeting up with family and friends and enjoying eating out. Doing normal, enjoyable persuits is the way forward to take your mind away from the medical stuff.
Well done you for managing a short, but deep sleep - every little helps! Just try to relax, think nice thoughts and you might find yourself drifting off. Here's hoping sweetheart xxx
Hi,Gill H

Evening allasada and a warm welcome to our group.
When I read your first post I did think, eh? but your second explained it How are you doing sweetie? Hopefully ok but maybe anxious about something. We're here if that's the case but I'll have to go awol for a while, as this is when I do my OH's care. Others might be still about but I'll be back later if you'd like a chat xxx
Hi. I'm new here. What a good idea for a group. I had a breast biopsy last week and had it was confirmed as cancer today. I'm still waiting for my treatment plan appointment.
I've hardly slept this week and I'm worse tonight. Exhausted but no chance of sleeping. My head is full of thoughts and questions and I can't stop myself from constant googling which isn't helping.
My stomach feels like there's a 1000 butterflies in there so not eating properly either as I feel so sick.
Hi Wombz and a very warm welcome to our group, although I'm not surprised you're having trouble sleeping, what with the news you got today. Actually, yesterday now but still an awful lot to take in my lovely.
I'm pretty certain that once you do get your treatment plan things will start to even out, as you'll know much more then and start to get back some control. That will surely help with your sleep and eating too, as the last thing you need is to go down the rattle. I hope you've got support on the home front from loved ones, as they should be able to help you through the difficult early stage after your diagnosis. Look for extra support and advice from the lovely ladies on the breast cancer forum too.
Drop in here anytime of the day or night though, as you'll usually find a night owl or two perching about. Sending you all the very best for when the appointments start coming in and some big hugs too xxx
