Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Aw sorry about your hair sweetheart. When my mam lost hers she got a couple of wigs for when she went out, but wore those turban things indoors. She was a bit too old for beanies Blush

Fingers crossed your lass gets up to Edinburgh, as it's a lovely city and no doubt the dogs will enjoy it too. I've been checking the weather constantly these last few days, so now we're into Thursday I'm going to have another look. I'm doing my own head in! Whatever you get up to today, take care and wear a beanie, as the last thing you need is to catch a cold. OH is still trying to shake off one that's lingered for weeks, keeping me constantly on alert. What fun we have - not! Sending hugs xxx

  • Sorry to hear about the side effects from the chemo. You seem very brave about it. A light beanie sounds like a good idea (specially in this weather). Saw some turban things with a knot that were in nice fabrics (like what some ladies wear to take their makeup off). Anyhow, don’t fret too much although I know it must be hard. I would have cried buckets, My friends say it grows back (sometimes curly, lol).

  • Hi Brighthing. Can't you sleep either? If Lynne's sensible she'll be asleep by now, but might appreciate what your friends said about hair growing back with a different texture. I knew a lady who's hair grew back a totally different colour and she was thrilled.

Anyway sweetheart, I hope you're doing ok. Big hugs xxx

  • Hi Lynne, sorry to hear you have lost your hair Heart️ I bet you rock those beanies though xxx

    Take care lovely

    Hugs Lesley Bee

  • Hi night owls Owl

Just thought I'd put this out there

Second week of chemoradiotherapy - 3 to go , and feeling positive ticking each one off .

My clothes choices. (I really must be having trouble sleeping) I usually enjoy making an outfit a little quirky, clashing or layering, whatever. Anyway since treatments started, its like a uniform, a very comfy one....

    Long top - loose

Leggings - easy to get off pre radiotherapy

Bridget Jones style knickers - as above

The said knickers are so comfy - never tried them before , bought 2 x 5 pack from m&s .

I think going forward these might be my go to's instead of my matching bra and knickers sets Thinking

I hope i havnt offended anyone

    Hope everyone is ok xx

    Hugs Lesley Bee

  • Good early morning fellow night owl Owl xxx

Loving your style and always go for comfort, regardless what others may think. I've been joking with some good friends on another platform about the giant knickers my ancient MiL got me for Christmas. I'm not that huge! Anyway, I couldn't wear them as although I could probably hang glide in their vast expanse, the leg holes are minute and only allowed me to pull them up to mid-shin. So they've been shoved in a drawer, and I wear boxers as they're really comfy.

I've been trying to get some zeds in for about three hours and it's not working, so hoping you'll be more successful Lesley Bee but best wishes with your ongoing treatment, and keep giving us your entertaining updates as they're great. Big hugs in your big girl pants xxx

  • Fancy, mine are boring white. I suppose I could turn them into snowmen Rofl

  • Hi Lynne

I lost my hair while on chemo. I got some hats from Annabandana and my lovely friend bought me the wig I'm wearing in my avatar pic as my daughter was getting married while I was hairless.

It grew back straight and very soft, like baby hair.

  • You could always use them as dusters Smile xx
