Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

You will be in shock for days once you have had treatment and things explained it will get a bit
Good evening Nicky and a warm welcome to our group.
I'm not surprised you're in shock, just finding out your diagnosis, but take a breather my love as you'll find lots of support and advice on the forums. One you should consider joining is the womb cancer group, as there'll be many there who will know just how you feel and can give you learned advice. But feel free to post here too, as many of us struggle to sleep for a myriad of reasons, and some offer great tips on how to nod off.
Do you have support at home Nicky, as that's usually a good place to get yourself calm and less agitated. Sending you hugs xxx

Hi Nicky
Welcome to the group it is such a shock when you are given a cancer diagnosis I remember feeling like I was in a parallel universe for some time while the news soaked in. It will get better as you get used to the fact you have cancer and you get a treatment plan in place. You will feel more in control. I was diagnosed with womb cancer in 2023 and the womb cancer group here is full of lovely knowledgeable ladies and I found it really helped chatting to people in a similar situation. It may be worth you joining the group you can even just have a rant if you want! Sending hugs

Hi Nicky, welcome to the group. I empathise, it is a shock when given the diagnosis . Its natural to feel anxious . There are lots of lovely people on here who through their own experiences understand. As Gill said, there will be a forum specifically for womb cancer, will have more information relating to you. I am quite new on here , ive found it helpful and supportive. Like you I couldnt sleep, my mind went into overdrive . I found the waiting for the initial scans stressful. Once I had the scans and information about treatments, I got my head around it. I know everyone deals with things differently, but I find talking helps. My thoughts are wjth you. Take care , Lesley x
You're welcome Nicky, we're all in this together , hugs x
Hi Nicky
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I had womb cancer too. I had a hysterectomy in July 2024 followed up by 25 external radiotherapy, 2 brachytherapy & 6 chemo sessions. They told me I was all good after that.
Please don't use Dr Google, check on here for any info you want.
All the best for your treatment.
