Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Just off to sleep, grandson told me in his class they sometimes play relaxing piano music, so ive just put it on. Hopefully drift off soon . Xxxx

  • Evening Lesley.

Great idea, putting on piano music as it's so soothing. It's something I've always wanted to be able to do, but my eldest can play the piano.

All good luck for next week Pray My OH's tiny tattoos are on his upper chest and I always notice them when I do his stoma care. I call them his dot to dots, being silly. Fingers crossed you get a sound sleep tonight hon xxx

  • Thanks Gill. Im wondering how many ill have? We'll the music is playing and ive sprayed my pillow with lavender x

  • I had mine yesterday. Having my first radiotherapy on 30th December.

Today we went to a garden centre with my daughter and her boyfriend. We are having an early Christmas before they fly to spend Christmas with his mum. After a hilarious game of Telestrations we are boff to bed. I am experiencing ridiculous fatigue, considering it is more than 3 weeks since my lumpectomy. I'm wondering if it is the Letrozole. I normally have loads of energy. It could just be the whirlwind of procedures, waiting, diagnosis, waiting, operation, recovery and waiting again for results- do you think?

  • I'm going to try that soft music suggestion. I used to do it when I wanted my classes to calm down and it always worked.
