Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

You need to try for your own sake and for others.
i bottled up crap for most of last year and this year too, two 6 month periods of madness brought on by my complicated life and medical situation. Once I got rid of the money worries I spoke to councillors and started to turn back into a real human again.
This year was worse medically but less everything else. When I concentrated on what I needed to and yellped for help again, you guessed it, I got slowly better.
So don’t expect to get better quickly but to try and take time for yourself and slowly steer back to clear water where you can choose your direction with the strength from continued distance from idiots and people hurting you.
Never give up, never give up trying.
With so many questions rattling around your head and chemicals around your body you will struggle to let yourself sleep. But you can if you get the answers you need. Keep asking and if you don’t get the answers ask somewhere else until you do or fall asleep trying. It’s good that you ask here but ask in specialist places of interest of your particular problem. Even talking to like minded people will help immensely.
Good luck and sleep when you can, not when other do.
Hi Jess
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you can get the advice you need.

Hi Tamindu
I'm sorry to hear about grandad and that you are struggling to sleep. I'm sure you are a great help to him.
There's normally someone around here to chat to.

Hi Dysonkitty
Sorry to hear that you are struggling. Can you speak to your specialist about the menopause problems? It might be worth contacting their secretary to see if they can call you.

Good morning Dysonkitty, and a very warm welcome to our friendly group.
You're in the right place for chats and having problems with sleeping, but I see you've joined the breast cancer forum, which is the place you'll be able to connect with others who share your specific issues. Great advice from Helen about getting in touch with your specialist.
You'll always be welcome to drop in here, day or night, to talk about anything you like and join in with the conversations. Big hugs my lovely xxx
Afternoon all
Is everyone asleep?
I felt ill during the night so was up for a couple of hours but I managed to get some more sleep and didn't get up until 9am., feeling back to normal. I made a very rich dessert yesterday and I think that was my issue as since radiotherapy my stomach has played up.
It's lashing down here but we got to have a walk before the rain started and I've watched another Christmas movie

Afternoon Helen
I was almost asleep earlier, but had to rouse myself to do lymphatic drainage massage and electrolarynx practice with OH... and the rest. I've never aspired to be a therapist but a Jack of all trades will have to do.
That's my griping session over. Plenty of rain here and very gloomy
so right up my street. I watched a Christmas film in the early hours - a bit cheesy but not bad viewing overall, so I'll probably watch another tonight.
Aw lass, you've not had a great couple of weeks, feeling ropey and interrupted sleep, so fingers crossed you get back on track soon. Enjoy the films xxx
