Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Awww thanks Linda, your too kind, watercolours are all very new to me, I was lucky to see a local professional artist this week who taught me more in 10 minutes than I've learned in the 6 weeks I've been at it, how has your weekend been my friend, I  imagine the awful weather has scuppered any plans.

    Keep warm and cosy

    Eddie xx

  • Whoa on the TLC Gilly, you don't want anyone thinking your LOH mumRofl, Awww isn't it nice to pamper those we love, no matter their age, and I for one get just as much enjoyment from giving it, P&L are only 8 months old, but their recognition skills are very good, and I get a little smile, and occasionally a coo, which makes my dayGrinning, and it's not mollycoddling, it's love. Well the little ones are in bed for the night but we will see them before we set off, so hugs all round. I'm familiar with feeling crook, but after my latest results, carked it, is more apt. In case I forget, best wishes for tomorrow XX

  • Are you heading off on your travels tomorrow?

    H

  • Heading home tomorrow Helen, I've a few things to do before we set off for Greece on Wednesday morning, making sure I've all my meds, taking the dogs  to Sheila's kids, counselling, a massage and meeting a friend who works at Overgate hospice, at an Italian restaurant called Casa Luli. Are you hoping to get away tomorrow Helen, or will you decide in the morning? XX

  • Thank you, although it's just LOH's annual review since he had a TIA in 2023 - he didn't have it last year as he was in hospital. We'll have to get up early, and no messing around, as I think he's got the first appointment. After it's done, we're off to a nearby retail park to get new winter bedding, and maybe go for some dinner.

Aw that's lovely, getting smiles from the twins. Don't you just love little ones feet and hands - all podgy and soft? I could have eaten my girls' toes when they were little, but I can assure you I didn't! And yes, I do take the care job over the top but that's because he's my soul mate.

Safe travels for when you set off tomorrow xxx

  • Gilly reviews are important, they give you the opportunity to get answers and information, and I like being 1st in for appointment's, as infection risk is at its lowest. Oooh shopping for bedding will that be Dunelm?, they have a canteen too,

Awww the little ones are just gorgeous from head to toe, and those little feet and hands are scrumptious, but those big googoo eyes, guaranteed to make you fall in love, and thank you my friend, and best wishes for your appointment XX

  • Thanks Eddie. Unfortunately it's not Dunelm as there isn't one there, but there are plenty of other food joints and I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

It more than likely won't be his GP as he's been AWOL for over three years now and we've forgotten what he looks like. It'll either be a locum or a nurse, hopefully the latter as they seem more interested and knowledgeable in our experience. Then stats, bloods and the pee sample from home, as LOH always 'dries' when asked to do it to order. Lol!

Did you know that babies are so appealing because of the size of their eyes? Apart from overall cuteness, we're born with eyes that remain that size for life, that's why they look so big on a baby. Well that's what I read a long time ago. I think they're gorgeous no matter what xxx

  • Love the painting Eddie, it has such a peaceful vibe! Slight smile

  • No Dunelm, and your still going, your No like any other of the girls I know, many of them go just for a trip out, and I know what you mean about nurses, by and large, showing more interest and and giving you a feeling they care, it's always a red letter day when I go for a review at Uro, and I'm seen by my CNS, she's fab.

Awww I can emphasise with LOH, on the pee or not to pee situation PCa and a TURP doesn't make that easy.

Can you imagine if our eyes did continue to grow as we got older, and didn't stop when we got to 2, I think women would suit them much more than guys, it's believed we're born with such large eyes, as it triggers our caregiver response, our little angel Mandy has the biggest most beautiful eyes I've ever seen xx

  • Awww I'm glad you like it Stacey, is painting something you've ever done my friend, I  can imagine there are some amazing landscapes in Utah, especially in winter.
