Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Thanks Gill h ,

I’ve been once before to Bath and it was lovely, my daughter lives in Cheltenham , so we’ll go down from there , of course everything has to be flexible at the moment for most of us I guess,Hugging

  • Aw that'll be lovely for you so fingers crossed it comes off. Yes, you're right about having to plan round things but I reckon my OH would be ok for a few hours now, which would be great. Neither of us drink now, so I've been tempting him that they might do fancy coffees or suchlike. When I've done his care routine I'm going to have a look on the internet and see what I can find. Chilly tonight so keep warm hon xxx

  • Hi briars, well done my friend, and hopefully your efforts bear fruit soon and your daughter and you can find something better to do together, and everything crossed you get to Bath Christmas market, we're hoping to be there on the 4th or 5th, hopefully the weather's good for us both

  • Enjoy the looking x

  • Hi again Briars. Well I had a look and think we'll enjoy it. It starts on November 21st but we'll probably go the first week in December, all being well. We're pretty easily pleased, and don't get out, so we'll not spend time grumbling, just spending brass. I'll be hunting down any food stalls, for sure Yum xxx

  • Last time I went to Leeds Christmas market it wasn't up to much I'm afraid. The nearest one that's not bad is York which is probably worth a trip either by train or Yorkshire Coastliner bus.

  • Morning excavator Grin

Thanks for the tip, but York's too far to travel, just in case OH needs to use his neb. We don't have a car now and although time restrictions are a flaming nuisance, Leeds is our nearest option.

It could play to our advantage if Leeds isn't popular, as the less crowded the better afawc. As long as we can get out other than seeing hospital walls, and maybe find some decent chow, we'll be suited. A taxi there and back is well within our remit. Thumbsup

    Have a lovely day xxx

  • Morning all

It sounds like there's quite a lot of Christmas market planning going on. While we're away we hope to get to Calais, Arras, Brugge & Gravelines Markets.  There's also a Christmas market in Canterbury so we may go and have a look.

I got a message from the practice manager where I used to work to say that they have a leaving present for me so I'm going to pop in this morning.
