Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Never1,Im here already ,just discovered my kindles not charged, on here early.

welcome to you , I new here to ,and newly diagnosed, everyone seems very friendly and seem to know each other, maybe that comes with night chats

  • Hi briars, welcome aboard my friend, I've been reading about your dilemma whether or not to have radiotherapy to whatever may remain of your SCC after  surgery, not my cancer my friend,  but I know a little about radiotherapy having had 20 fractions of EBRT, which I believe will  likely be your treatment, though I know brachytherapy is also a possibility, both are very effective and precisely focused treatments carried out by highly skilled radiographers, who are friendliest people you could wish to meet in hospital.

  • Thanks Eddie, it is exactly that a delemma , I am trying to get my head round it all.

dose radiotherapy leave your more marks on the face , I’m very happy with the skin graft, his mum must have taught him well

    brisrd

  • Hi briars maybe you should ask your team what radiotherapy regime their considering, whether it is EBRT and how many fractions, it could be 6 or up to 30 or if brachytherapy seed is an option

  • I didn't take extra cover as it was only the cancer that was excluded and being in France in our own transport we knew we could be home quickly if needed.

We're having a few days away in the Midlands next week then off to France & Belgium in December to visit some Christmas Markets.

When are you going to Greece? It sounds like a lovely way to get there.
